Effects of Processed Foods
Researchers have recently discovered the vast difference between the mental status between people who consume larger amounts of ultra processed food and those that do not. The relationship between the type of food consumed, proved how foods that are processed increase levels of stress hormones, anxiety, and depression. Those who consumed foods which were less processed, and contained more pure ingredients experienced lower levels of mental health disorders, in comparison to those who consumed higher amounts. There are many reasons for why there is a link between mental disorders and poor eating habits. For example, the amount of chemicals in processed foods can greatly affect your mood. As well as the amount of fat in processed foods, and how that can affect your mental health because of potential issues it can pose with body image.
